A knowledge of medical informatics tools and the ability to use such tools is essential for today’s doctors. "Computers for Health" aims at developing, coordinating and teaching medical informatics on a national level.

This online course comprises compulsory core courses for all medical students in Switzerland, as well as a choice of optional courses. It includes basic technology, information indexing and its nomenclature, clinical informatics (electronic patient record, medical decision-support systems), digital imaging and bio-statistics.

All these elements are also accessible to students from other faculties (law, biology, information technology) and vocational schools (paramedical professional).
