Over the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the number of people studying Spanish in Switzerland.

"E-Cid" is an online Spanish course that replaces traditional lessons. This course is based on contrastive grammar, and has been designed in modular form so that it can be used as much by arts students (to expand their knowledge of Spanish grammar and linguistics) as students in other faculties (to acquire basic knowledge). Teaching aids comprise texts, voice (language laboratory), videos and presentations.

Basic grammar and vocabulary are learned through written and oral exercises, in which the student initially receives guidance and is then free to work independently. Although written work is mostly checked through self-assessment, the student’s oral progress is monitored by tutors.
