The journalism and media studies institutes and specialized departments
of Zurich, Bern, Fribourg and Lugano Universities and the Zurich University
of Applied Sciences Winterthur want to jointly set up a digital repository
of high-quality teaching and learning materials. These will provide students
with an introduction to the subject, and constitute highly effective teaching
tools for lecturers in an e-learning environment.
The repository will consist of the following elements: 1. self-study units
which introduce users to core areas of the subject and to scientific methods;
2. case studies enabling students to develop their problem-solving abilities;
3. tools for self-assessment and external evaluation which can be used
by lecturers for both frontal and online teaching, and facilitate active
learning and communication on the part of students; 4. quality assurance
tools which help lecturers to make e-learning an enriching and rewarding
experience.
The learning materials will be integrated as a compulsory part of the
curricula of participating institutions of higher education. The repository
is compatible with the Bologna Reform and the European Credit Transfer
System ECTS.
