With information theory playing such a central role in many scientific fields, the online "Information Theory" course is aimed as much at students of humanities as those of natural science and mathematics.

The course structure consists of common modules (for all students), and modules specific to certain groups (IT specialists, linguists, psychologists, geographers, mathematicians, statisticians, physicists and electrical engineers). Various simulations and animations add considerable interest to the course material.

This trilingual course (French, German, English) provides opportunities for self-assessment and discussion in a seminar environment. Students can also have online contact with the instructor responsible for a module.
