Courses in business informatics and information management are taught as part of business administration at Bern and Basel Universities of Applied Sciences, and as part of economics at the University of Basel. The Information & IT Management online project is aimed at providing an integrated e-learning platform for the further development of these courses using contemporary pedagogical methods and media.

The project is being conducted by a team of experts in e-business, e-learning didactics, technology and management. The courses will be taken by around 500 students, who will be taught by means of blended learning. This comprises face-to-face teaching, e-learning components, and self-managed and collaborative learning. This concept is integrated with the Bachelor/Master concept. At least five lecturers from three different institutions of higher education will ensure the continuous development and upgrading of e-learning material.
