In the field of medicine, Dermatology is an ideal speciality to develop multi-media based teaching concepts. The department of dermatology of Zurich together with other universities succeeded in entering the SVC program with a online teaching project, which was named DOIT. The project consists roughly of four parts:

• CyberLecture; a virtual lecture text and atlas.
• CyberTrainer; an interactive training program
• CyberNet; a discussion platform with focus on cases from practice and clinic.
• Cyberforum, a discussion forum with tutors.

The combined work with these modules assists the student in learning the basics of dermatology with a problem based learning approach. The use of the Swiss Learning Objectives Catalogue as basis for DOIT helps harmonize medical teaching among Swiss Universities. DOIT is available in German. Most parts are available in French an English too.
